Local music champions FOMA present a pop-up gig of unbridled grunge-punk masochism at Digbeth’s Dig Brew Co. It’s a cholesterol-soaked smorgasbord of guttural alt-rock that only the Midlands could provide, and all for the unbeatable entry price of sweet F.A.

Top billing goes to Coventry’s breakout post-punk noisemakers FEET: from freewheeling surf-rock jams to fuzzed-up sardonic stampedes, they’re a band with a bloodlust you can sense from a mile off,  one with ‘cult following’ written all over them. Meanwhile, grunge-pop maestros Sœur don’t write songs so much as stack together big, abrasive, Albini-ready riffs into a teetering mass of aggression and affection: Bristol’s radio-ready answer to Sleater-Kinney.

The ambient indie soul-pop charms of Chartreuse and the howlin’ Americana tempest known as You Dirty Blue fill out the live line-up, but that’s not all: there’s DJ sets from Hoopla Blue, Mutes, PNK SLM and FOMA themselves. And if that’s not enough free eardrum-pummelling to get you down there, Dig Brew and FOMA have made a limited edition beer that’s free for the first 50 punters through the door. People, just be good to yourselves and embrace this.
