Set excitement levels to through the roof cinephiliacs. A stunning line up of films awaits at the third incarnation of the Behind The Curtain festival. Seventeen examples of the best in Eastern European cinema will be screened at venues across the city. Once we’ve all recovered from the free Polish themed opening party featuring the strings of the Cracovia Quartet; Klezmer heroes the Ajde Trio, the folk accordion of Pawal Zaba and the experimental melodies of Earth is Flat, we can lock into the movies. Our unmissable events are the playful Czech New Wave classic ‘Daisies’ which is screening alongside live music from Matthew Edwards and the Unfortunates, Bela Tarr’s incredibly profound ‘The Turin Horse’ and  Tomasz Wasilewski’s acclaimed Polish melodrama ‘United States of Love’. All films screening are worthy of your attention and in addition there are workshops, children’s events and music. Several screenings are followed by Q&A’s. An incredible festival.
