Events: This month’s Digbeth First Friday pulls out all the festive stops, with events sprawled across Digbeth’s creative venues offering everything from live music, lip sync battles and Japanese food to the best alt Xmas party in town. Club Integral at The Edge offers ‘uncategorisable’ creative clubbing with the magnificent Spaceheads & Rucksack Cinema playing live as well as Kam’s Daidoko Japanese eats and beautiful visuals. Grand Union‘s festive ‘do’ features DJ’s, lip sync battle and curated Xmas chic from MAIA Creative. Elsewhere there’ll be crafted curios galore at the Etsy Made Local Christmas Fair-12-8pm/in the Custard Factory’s market hall, (12pm – 8pm).
Art: Stryx hosts the exhibition ‘Occupied’ – an event featuring works by studio holders offering insights into their world and the creative minds of Birmingham. Vivid Projects has new exhibition from Priya Saujani and Grace A Williams, ‘SYN’ exploring the theme of female sexuality through the eye of the mythical. Saujani’s work reflects upon the themes of female violence vs sexuality within that of the Indian community, whilst Williams explores the links of the feminine through the allegory of the sea siren, using voice and sound.
