It ‘s time to dig into another cultural feast across Digbeth as First Friday returns with its usual eclectic plethora of inventive and imaginative art happenings. Centrala is hosting a sneak peak at the forthcoming 100 Years, So What? Exhibition, by avant garde Polish artists including Małgorzata Dawidek and Iwona Demko, that explores the centenary of women’s voting rights, Centrala is also hosting Three Models of Change, which discusses community across actual and staged narratives. Artist Hannah Mary presents a durational performance of her work The Dry Womb at Stryx, a challenging representation of a child’s relationship with a disintegrating mother. Visceristahood will be performing a live soundtrack to their Frankenfilm, a response to the 200th Anniversary of Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein, at Vivid Projects.
