Brummie alternative cultural entrepreneurs Die Das Der have established a formidable reputation for staging incredible events rich with the best music and arts our city has to offer. This year we have been promised three Yr Welcome all dayers, which is stunning news for your senses. First up at the Wagon and Horses (indoors, which is just as well with the relentless bad weather) are nine wonderful bands for just eight of your gold pounds, that’s less than a quid a band, of course this wouldn’t matter if the music was rubbish but this is Die Das Der. Check out the bill. We’re particularly looking forward to seeing pop punk geezers Yr Poetry bring their big, brash and melodious anthems along with the rodent wine monsters Rat the Magnificent, who sound like they’ve dropped straight out of a Touch and Go Records mash up party starring Jesus Lizard, Die Kreuzen and Big Black, pure discordant majesty. The rest of a superior line up is completed with You Dirty Blue, Sweet Deals on Surgery, Nasty Little Lonely, Owte, Hulkenburg, The Dollcanoes and there’s also an opportunity to get messy with Fun Sponge.
