If the music of David Bowie moves you and you like to let loose on the dancefloor without boundaries or intoxicants, tonight may very well be your night to shake off the shackles of whatever’s holding you back and step into something new. A dance class where there are no set moves, few rules and hardly any limitations, 5 Rhythms invites the dancer to move to their own beat, taking only minimal guidance from the teacher/DJ who steers the class through a set of music that ranges from flowing to stillness and can incorporate everything from African drumming to dance music, rock to rave, folk to classical. Sometimes referred to as ‘a meditation through movement’ this is the kind of class where every body is welcomed onto the floor and gently invited to unleash their inner truths. Tonight Bowie will be the inspiration, but at 5 Rhythms the free spirit inside of you always gets to be the star. Kick off your red shoes and dance the blues.
