An innovative fine-dining restaurant that will blend authentic Greek cuisine with contemporary gastronomy is set to open in Birmingham this year.
Located in the heart of the Colmore Business District at the former All Bar One space in Bruntwood SciTech’s Cornwall Buildings on Newhall Street, Cylla draws inspiration from the legendary Greek sea monster Scylla, promising a dining experience that celebrates ‘the perfect harmony of sea and land.’
Under the guidance of General Manager Adonis Maniadakis, whose Greek heritage has been central to Cylla’s vision, the restaurant aims to bring a sophisticated approach to Mediterranean dining that ‘transcends traditional boundaries.’
“Being of Greek origin, it was my passion to bring Greek culture and fine food to Birmingham,” says Maniadakis. “Cylla will be one of its kind—a totally unique experience that combines the elegance of fine dining with the warmth of Greek hospitality.”
A carefully considered Mediterranean-inspired cocktail offering has also been designed to enhance the dining experience, with each creation incorporating traditional Greek spirits and fresh Med ingredients.
The interior of Cylla will merge elegance with subtle references to Greek architecture. The team says the space ‘has been thoughtfully crafted to reflect the restaurant’s commitment to providing an immersive dining experience that engages all the senses.’
“Cylla represents boldness, courage and adventure within Greek and Mediterranean fine dining,” explains Maniadakis. “Our goal is to create not just a meal, but a unique dining experience that transports our guests to the shores of the Greek islands while pushing the boundaries of culinary creativity.”
Matt Pazos, Retail Commercial Manager, for Bruntwood SciTech – the UK’s largest property platform dedicated to the growth of the nation’s innovation economy, added: “We are delighted to welcome a brand new and exciting restaurant concept to our iconic Cornwall Buildings with the arrival of Cylla this Spring.
“The team are set to add a brand new and innovative offering to Birmingham’s thriving fine dining scene with a vibrant and authentic taste of Greek cuisine, served in beautiful surroundings. The bustling Colmore Business District is the perfect location and we can’t wait for the doors to open on this stunning new concept.”
Cylla will open its doors to the public in mid-March 2025 and will serve lunch and dinner seven days a week.
