Ah the Goon Show. That quintessentially English breed of hyper kinetic silliness that paved the way for the likes of Monty Python and all the alternative comedy that followed. Messers  Milligan, Sellers, Secombe and Bentine had a seismic cultural impact and, as Eric Sykes commented, ‘blew the roof off comedy’, a young John Lennon was mesmerised. They blazed a trail of inspired lunacy across 238 episodes several of which are now sadly lost forever. Thanks to Fred Theatre we can now relive two classic Spike Milligan scripted Goon shows. Join Eccles, Neddie Seagoon,  Bluebottle and Hercules Grytpype-Thynne in ‘The House of Teeth’ starring the notorious cafe Filthmuck and ‘The Jet Propelled Guided NAAFI’ featuring sixty thousand gallons of tea. In keeping with the spirit of the Goons the performance will include live sound effects and jazz band. An uproariously inspired way to enjoy a wonderful English institution. Part of the Birmingham Comedy Festival. Ying Tong iddle i po indeed.
