If you’re enjoying the triumphant return of the bizarre world of Royston Vasey to your telly boxes then you will no doubt be thrilled that the cast are bringing the show to the Arena in September 2018. Beginning life as a BBC radio show in 1997 before migrating to the small screen for three seasons and a Christmas special, its ugly menagerie of grotesque characters and razor sharp pop references was a blackly comic hit with its twisted vernacular permanently embedding itself into popular culture. “This is a local shop for local people.” Tubbs, Babs, Pauline and the whole outrageous coterie will be on stage for the first time in twelve years, we really hope Les McQueen’s Creme Brulée perform a few numbers and that the food stalls have huge stocks of Hilary Briss’ special stuff. Tickets go on sale Dec 20 at 9am and will sell out quickly.
