Seven days of cutting edge arts are blitzing into the city this October as Fierce Festival takes over a huge plethora of Birmingham venues, big and small, filling them with ‘performance, politics, parties and pop’. Prepare your brains for a full on mental rollicking and set jaws to drop as this year’s lineup is a sense frazzling cultural whopper. Best experienced with a Thursday to Sunday weekend festival pass which guarantees access to eight highlights, but these are limited to a 100 so get clicking. A Casio powered Deadpan Disco at a super secret location starring Figs in Wigs and the Fierce Club DJ’s is the perfect festival warm up (no smiling); The Famous Lauren Barri Holstein in a new multi-faceted show, Notorious, daringly exploring the female representation in the media and the premier of Rocio Boliver’s Sweet 60th, Rocio’s fearless assault on prejudice can be by turns hilarious and downright terrifying, but always absolutely worthy of your attention, you won’t be able to look away.
