The Haunting | Sat 29 Oct | Rainbow | £30
The Rainbow Venues’ annual Halloween festival is back. If you dare, head to Lower Trinity Street and enter the haunted circus: dance the dance of death to the sounds of headliner Wilkinson’s frenetic drum and bass, pay a visit to witch doctor Lee Walker in the Warehouse and fall under the spell of DJ Haus’s black magic in the Blackbox. Throw on your scariest outfit, grab your crucifix to ward off any evil spirits and venture on in for one of the biggest nights of the year. See our feature here
Ouse: Welcome to the Apocalypse | Fri 28 Oct | Boxxed | £12
Pick your way through the fallout of a cataclysmic explosion into Boxxed, a ragtag new city rising out in the irradiated wastelands of post-apocalyptic Digbeth, pieced together by the survivors of the end of the world. It’s time again for Ouse’s customary Halloween celebration, and this eagerly-awaited installment takes a decidedly darker turn into a world torn apart by nuclear war. If last month’s party is anything to go by, it’s bound to be a good one, so step inside, shut out the world outside – and dance. See our feature here.
Itchy Feet: Mods vs. Rockers | Wed 26 Oct | Jam House | £8
Transporting clubbers back in time to the ‘60s is Itchy Feet, a retro night that dares to be different. With a variety of sounds from R&B, rock ‘n’ roll and disco (all on vinyl, of course), Itchy Feet takes pride in digging out those golden oldies that, deep down, everybody knows and loves. With a playful theme pitting everyone’s favourite warring subcultures against each other, pick your side and groove on down to the Jam House this Wednesday for something a little different from anything else in UK clubland.
Hallowscream Party | Thu 27 Oct | Pryzm | From £1
Sink your fangs into this pre-Halloween night of hedonism, a terrifying taster of the hungover horrors hiding in the shadows of the looming weekend. From his lair in the main room, Patrick Nazemi will be churning out the best in house and dance music, fresh from recent performances out in Ibiza alongside the likes of DZ EZ and Craig David. Elsewhere, Pryzm regular Tango Williams will be providing a steady stream of R&B and grime to the Curve faithful until the small hours of the morning.
Portal Halloween | Sat 29 Oct | 119 Floodgate Street | From £22.50
World-renowned DJ Luciano was born in Switzerland and raised in Chile, but you might say that he found his spiritual home in Ibiza, his Vagabundos and Luciano & Friends parties revolutionising the White Isle’s nightlife. At Portal’s Halloween fancy dress spectacular, he performs alongside Eats Everything, Solardo, Latmun and more.
