MADE My Night | Sat 29 Jul | 119 + Boxxed | from £24.75
The action moves to Floodgate Street for the final leg of MADE Festival, an all-night affair featuring some of the biggest names in underground music. Much like her footballing career, former Rainbow resident Hannah Wants’ selecting credentials have made her an international talent, but this weekend she returns to her hometown of Birmingham to headline 119 with Redlight in support. Next door at Boxxed, People Just Do Nothing pranksters Kurupt FM and local legend Goldie (MBE) star. If you missed out on tickets for the big one, this is your chance to get a taste of what MADE is all about; if you’re fiercely carrying on the party from the main event, this after-hours rave should sort you out. www.madefestival.com

Le Freak: Soul Train Special | Fri 28 Jul | Night Owl | £5
Monthly disco funk and boogie night from the proudly independent Night Owl, specialists in all things retro. No need to worry if you don’t know the moves just yet – this inclusive night is perfect for amateur and experienced disco dancers alike, and feel free to utilise the dance taster class at 10pm to brush up on your hustle before hitting the floor (a must). 12” singles, string sections and slap bass are the order of the day, so if this sounds like your scene, why not give it a go? Advance tickets are available at the link below; otherwise, entry is £3 on the door before 10pm and £6 thereafter. www.ticketsellers.co.uk

Tarantism | Sat 29 Jul | Suki10c | from £6
It’s another weird and wonderful, hard-hitting club night from Digbeth’s dark sheep: Suki10c. Named after the dancing mania commonly believed to result from the bite of the tarantula (no causal relationship has ever been demonstrated), Tarantism have arrived at the fourth instalment of a party that promises hour upon hour of squelchy acid house, frenetic gabber and heavy drum & bass. Looking for something a bit different from what’s being offered by Birmingham’s other venues? Chances are you’ll find it here. www.skiddle.com
