Claude VonStroke | Sat 22 Oct | Amusement 13 | From £12.50
Dirtybird label boss and DJ Mag’s no. 1 American selector fills the rooms of Amusement 13 with chunky beats and funky basslines. Butterz Showcase | Fri 21 Oct | Amusement 13 | From £10
Founded by Elijah and Skilliam, London-based label Butterz pioneered the style known as instrumental grime, pushing what is often thought of as merely the backdrop for aggressively delivered bars to the forefront of whole pieces of music. In the spirit of the Wiz Khalifa song, all of Butterz’ promotional material is in black and yellow, but expect no such pop sensibilities in the music produced by this label’s artists, who continue to uncompromisingly recreate the sound of the streets with breakbeats and menacing synthesisers.
