Tony Wilson’s ‘Joy Division in better threads’, the legendary ACR revive their post-punk, disco, funk, brass and dub sounds in the cosy confines of the Hare and Hounds to make for an unmissable, nay once-in-a-lifetime type event courtesy of ace local promoters This is Tmrw. In the likely event you weren’t there to bear witness to the band’s last (early 80’s) Birmingham gig, this may well offer the only chance to see the former Factory Records darlings of the early Manchester scene live and local. Spotted, managed and produced by the Mancunian Midas mix of Rob Gretton and Martin Hannett in the late 70’s/early 80’s, the band have a well-worn musical legacy that spans nearly 4 decades, with their classic ‘Shack Up’ sounding almost as fresh and apt today as it did on original release. Tickets won’t hang about, so get in quick.
