Birmingham son and one time member of People magazine’s 50 most beautiful people in the world, Roland Gift is coming home to the Hare and Hounds this month for a unique Christmas show. With The Fine Young Cannibals he was responsible for two platinum selling albums, a raft of classic singles and some of the grooviest tight dancing ever seen. Gift’s inimitable soulful singing style is instantly recognisable as he deliciously toys with words wrapping his tongue around every single sound. The consummate pop star. Gorgeous, stylish, fit, unique and with a social conscience to match. Did you know he refused to accept a Brit award in 1990 claiming the event was a photo opportunity for the Tories. Legend. Gift will be performing with a six piece band including renown musicians drummer Dave Barbarossa and guitarist Dave Randall. A beautifully kitsch evening of Christmas entertainment is lined up including cabaret style performances, raffles, prizes and a comedy turn from award winning comedian Paul Ricketts. The event will be recorded for future release. A singularly brilliant Christmas event and we reckon it will be the highlight of the festive season. Ho ho ho kids.
Tue 20 Dec 7.30pm at Hare and Hounds, High Street, Kings Heath, Birmingham B14 7JZ £15 hareandhoundskingsheath.
