The old Ceol Castle in Balsall Heath has had a prodigious lick of paint and a shiny new PA installed in readiness for its launch weekend as the Castle & Falcon starting this Friday. The new sound system will be tested to the max with an incredible lineup of noisy local talent on hand to kick in the Castle & Falcon era. On Friday the nine piece Atlantic Players are guaranteed to kick up a soulful storm with their energetic brand of fiery ‘Southern Soul’, rockabilly rebel rousers Harry & the Howlers continue their slicked back upwards momentum fronted by the enigmatic devil in a push up bra Harry Jordan and DJ Sam Redmore will be spinning grooves until the early hours. Saturday will be a whisky soaked swamp blues rock out with The Urban Voodoo Machine. The fully refurbed venue is looking tip top and is well worth a visit with some great bands visiting over the coming weeks.
