The first of a new series of summertime parties stakes its claim to the Birmingham scene at the newly renovated Amusement 13. Celebrating the styles of disco, house and tech-house, Soirée welcomes Jimmy Switch and Hott Like Detroit to the decks, alongside Samantha Loveridge, Karrem and more. Taking a talent nurtured in the north across the UK and to the world, Manchester-born Jimmy Switch hosts his own event brand at Sankeys Ibiza and has supported artists such as Art Department, Dyed Soundorom and Josh Butler, even appearing on Pete Tong’s legendary BBC Radio 1 show. Hott Like Detroit’s list of achievements is equally formidable. Composed of DJs Burkie and Aggs, this dedicated duo began started out DJing in little-known Walsall nightclub Lost Lounge and have now taken their craft as far afield as Switzerland and South Africa, boasting airplay from the likes of Shiba San, Low Steppa and MistaJam. It’s an undeniably impressive lineup for Soirée’s debut show, and only time will tell if this fresh-faced brand can grow to become one of the heavyweights of the local scene – and beyond.
