Don’t miss the UK’s biggest annual family festival as it rolls into Shard End Park this July, aiming to make it a weekend to remember for crowds in excess of 40,000 people. Through the tried-and-tested trinity of music, dance and food, Shardfest promotes an ethos of community spirit and social harmony, striving to educate festival-goers about salient issues such as knife crime and anti-social behaviour – an objective that surely everybody can get behind. But first and foremost, this two-day spectacle is a celebration of home-grown UK talent, with 2012 X Factor winner James Arthur headlining the main stage alongside Reggie n Bollie, Lemar, Lisa Maffia and many more. With three stages, food stalls and kids’ areas, this really is an event that all of the family can enjoy.
Sat 23 July – Sun 24 July, Shard End Park, Norman Chamberlain Playing Fields, Pithall Road, Birmingham, B34 7PT, 11am – 11pm daily. Tickets from £10.80, www.theticketsellers.co.uk
