It’s been 30 years since the release of the universally acclaimed Daintees ‘Boat to Bolivia’ album on the legendary Kitchenware record label. To mark the anniversary Martin and the band re-recorded the classic album in full. Now, minus the Daintees, Martin is touring his rootsy rock anthems around the UK in a series of special shows, expect Daintees classics as well as songs from his extensive solo career. This is the next best thing to last year’s ‘Dansette’ tour in which Martin would turn up at a fan’s house play side one of ‘Boat to Bolivia’ interspersed with stories and anecdotes and, after being fed, do the same with side two. What an experience. Stephenson is never short of a story or two and is positively dripping with charisma, his shows are always great fun. In the cosy confines of the beautiful Kitchen Garden Cafe this will be something special.
