Not often do the worlds of rave and religion collide, but this fun-filled afternoon and evening promises more powder paint explosions, Bollywood dancers and multicultural street food outlets than you can shake a glow stick at. You may be wondering why this comes a whole month after the ‘real’ festival of colours, but think about it and it makes complete sense – Holi is traditionally a time to spend with one’s family (in very different circumstances!), so the event organisers have pushed this one forward to let everyone who wants to attend. And this event really is for everyone – Hindus and non-Hindus, adults and children, hardcore ravers and fresh-faced clubbers alike. There’s a real emphasis on breaking down cultural and societal barriers here, so even if you don’t really know much of anything about Holi, this is your chance to learn. The original rave generation preached unity and love, and no event represents these qualities more than this seven-hour celebration of arts, dance and music.
