There probably aren’t many DJs in the world who also have a doctorate in dental medicine, but Dr Nina Kraviz can put that one down on her CV. Hailing from snowy Siberia, she can also claim to have founded her own record label (трип – ‘trip’ in English), which was voted Mixmag’s 2015 record label of the year, and she has headlined world-renowned festivals such as Coachella, Dekmantel and Amsterdam Dance Event as well as hosting a monthly residency show on BBC Radio 1. Kraviz would be headhunted by prospective employers in an instant if she didn’t prefer to forge her own path, her idiosyncratic style and taste in electronic music setting her well apart from her contemporaries. The inimitable DJ is joined by Icelandic techno Trip signee Bjarki, Steevio & Suzybee, Lewis Oxley and more for this intimate show hosted by Blackdot.
