A true feast for all the senses, Digbeth has become a real foodie’s paradise over the last few years, due significantly to the now legendary Digbeth Dining Club. Hosts of the monthly street food Fridays at Spotlight along with plenty of other sumptuous socials and mouthwatering pop-ups, DDC provide food lovers all over Birmingham with some of the country’s finest street food wrapped up in a familiar and funky atmosphere that has become its incredibly popular signature dish. So it is no surprise that the winners of ‘Best Street Event’ 2013 and 2014 should play host to 2016’s British Street Food Awards this September. Taking place at The Rainbow Venues the prestigious British Street Food Festival will witness a mass gathering of the finest street vendors from all over the country ready to serve you the best they have to offer, in the form of taster platters you can eat from all day, in the hope that they can secure your vote. Awards will be announced on the stage at 2pm on Sunday with award categories including Best Sandwich, Best Main Dish, Best Vegetarian, Best Dessert, Best Snack, Best Looking Mobile, and of course ‘Best Street Food Event.’ Joining the award winning Digbeth Dining Club are a whole bunch of Birmingham’s best eclectic events and organisations including retro gaming event Dead Pixels, Leftfoot DJ’s, City of Colours street artists, JamJar Sound and more… Kids under 14 go free, so there’s literally no excuse not to fill your boots.
