How do you improve on the city’s premier Northern Soul club and it’s legendary parties? Move it to the Town Hall for one night of lovely Night Owl shenanigans that’s what. Events at the Night Owl are justifiably revered by fans of barnstorming soul energy. It’s not just the springy dance floor on which experts can strut some gymnastically impossible moves or the more funky resistant can simply enjoy a happy wobble, it’s the whole Night Owl vibe. Great music, positive energy and a real friendly atmosphere (we’ve been dragged onto the dance floor by complete strangers). A nice taster of what to expect was the recent flash mob takeover of Grand Central Station by a hoard of earnest soul rebels armed with some exquisite shapes. Iconic DJ Colin Curtis heads a roster of high quality vinyl wizards that includes PEP and Sonny & Spare. Limber up and get dancing with a smile on your face.
