Join Hotelier in the landscape of tilting heads. Latest album ‘Goodness’ is a beautiful thing, it feels like Christian Holden and the band are taking the listener through a journey of self-discovery, powered by the almost locomotive power of Sam Frederick’s relentless drumming. More introspective than their previous work and moving away from the darkness of previous material ‘Goodness’ is a rock classic. Recalling the best of REM there’s a distinct whiff of Stipe in Holden’s vocals. Littered with poignant spoken word excerpts throughout each track is a mini classic right through to finale ‘End of Reel’ and your instinct then will be to play it all again. Support comes from New York’s bubblegum funksters Crying whose new album ‘Beyond The Fleeting Gales’ is a glorious pop rock symphony of crashing guitars and sweet melodies. Local indie rockers Wood and Nails complete the bill.
