Putting 13 thirteen year old girls and a bodybuilder on a stage was highly likely to create a bit of a stir, but this production has been getting all the right sorts of attention since Lyn Gardner called it a ‘drop everything and see it’ show in The Guardian last week. Its timely arrival on the stage in chaotic and unstable post-referendum UK just adds further weight to its nuanced underpinnings of uncertainty, new possibilities, chaos, fear and change. The teenagers storm the stage with their human complexities exploring what and how it is to be in a sea of individual and cultural turbulence, exploring identity and cultural expectations, fantasy and reality, past and present, thoughts and expressions, imitation and heroism all merging into each other in one beautifully bombastic explosion of character and charm. Suitable for ages 13+ do not miss. See our full On The Edge preview here
