Terry Hall’s beatifically unsmiling mug has been a part of our musical heritage for longer than we care to remember. From delivering biting social commentary with the Specials, through Fun Boy 3, Colourfield, a dizzying array of collaborations and back to the Specials again. It’s been a rocky road for Hall himself with a suicide attempt in 2004 which led to a diagnosis of Bipolar Disorder and ultimately the Specials reformation. Anyone who was lucky enough to see the (Very) Specials on last year’s tour would have seen a rejuvenated band having a blast and enjoying their music, we swear Terry smiled too. A Terry Hall DJ set is something we’re very excited about; never predictable, his is a musical lineage without compare, and to have a little glimpse into the tunes that make the great man tick is going to be a lot of fun. Local easy going reggae boys Kioko provide chilled out support. This is selling out fast so get moving.
