A timely and compelling piece of theatre in these troubled times. War is hell for the soldiers committed to battle but the loved ones left behind have to endure a whole different sphere of emotional pain. Pink Mist is inspired by 30 interviews with returned servicemen and the different battlefields they faced after returning from gruelling tours of duty in Afghanistan. Written by poet Owen Sheers Pink Mist moves with a lyrically intense emotionalism as Arthur, Hads and Taff return home from the horrors of fighting the Taliban. Unflinching and powerful the play has garnered universally high praise from critics. It’s a gut wrenchingly heartbreaking work possessed of a stark resonance. The bullets of Helmand Province were just the beginning. Important and highly recommended.
