A pop punk band with something to say? What will they think of next. Exeter’s Muncie Girls finally got around to releasing their debut album earlier this year and from the Sylvia Plath inspired title ‘From Caplan to Belsize’ to the rousingly intelligent songs, it is an album with a serious political heart. Songs like ‘Respect’ and ‘committee’ reveal a clued up personal energy that seeks to challenge misogyny and the dearth of radicalism.  Our favorite though is the Plath inspired ‘Gas Mark 4’. Plymouth punk rabble WOAHNOWS are on the bill as are Happy Accidents, who have just released their debut album ‘You Might Be Right’ on the always excellent Alcopop! Records.  Local boys Junior Weeb complete the line up. Incredible value for so many quality bands.
