A genuine living legend skanks into the Irish Centre this month as the juggernaut of dub himself, Jah Shaka brings his legendary sound system to the city. The Zulu Warrior has been spreading his deep reggae commandments for nearly five decades and his influences stretch far and wide. Early post punkers experimenting with roots such as PiL and The Slits cite Shaka as an inspiration and he has also worked with some of the biggest names in the genre such as King Tubby, Bim Sherman and Prince Alla. Jah Shaka parties are legendary affairs, Basement Jaxx have called them ‘their best night out ever’, come and plug into that magical slackness vibe and experience the booming mellow bass of the the granddaddy of UK dub.
