Hit the Ode is a wonderful celebration of spoken word artistry, bringing together one regional, one national and one international poet to perform alongside anyone bold enough to grab the open mic. There will be fully formed poems, partial poems and poems ready to flourish with the nourishment of an audience. This is a positive climate for poets to test out their creations and learn from one another, or for poetry lovers to simply enjoy an abundance of unique performances. Personal, profound, humorous or horrific, spoken word does not discriminate and for those of you who are daring enough, requests for open mic slots are still available. Whether you’re a spoken word veteran or a curious newbee, this is the ideal platform to showcase new work or just come and be inspired by a thriving creative environment.
