It’s going to get messy down in Digbeth as Taste and Liquor bring the UK’s first ever Hip Hop colour powder festival to Level, a converted cash and carry, making it the perfect urban setting. Bringing influences from the US and talent from the best of our own UK DJ’s with a day full of dance, beats and lyrical expression. Expect interactive performances, rap and dance challenges, and a unique visual experience with impressive digital exhibition’s and of course the chance to shower friends and strangers in colourful powder. It’s not just all about turning dayglo though; with urban street food, a basketball zone, 80’s/90’s theme film screenings, and a pop up clothes stall, plus more surprises. The event involves a combination of throwbacks and new talent, celebrating both legends of the genre and creating a platform for upcoming artists, exploring the growth of Hip Hop, the impact it has had on storytelling and the influence it has had on new generations.
