We have some great venues in the city exploring the wild frontiers of musical expression and this event at Cafe ORT is a real sonic doozy. Latvian artist Elizabete Balčus threads together minutiae symphonies of sound using disparate mediums that are then layered with one of the most haunting voices you will ever hear, her music is lush, deep and profound. An incredibile bill is completed by Kamura Obscura, an experience that features Atsuko Kamura, one half of legendary Japanese popsters and John Peel favourites Frank Chickens, and Birmingham’s own Lai Power.
