The Old Print Works has fast established itself as a thriving cultural hub for a wonderful array of interesting and eclectic events. This Saturday it plays host to another stunning Bongo Go world music event. The incredible line up features the flamboyant Simo Lagnawi, Gnawa master and the UK’s leading guembri player. A guembri is a three stringed lute folks, and the sight of Lagnawi getting all Hendrix on it is one you won’t forget. Masterful. Throw in a twenty piece Cuban big band, the rowdy and rumbunctious Ran Kan Kan and Birmingham’s own Colombian Cumbia merchants Manos Pa’Arriba and we reckon a night of toe tapping mayhem is as good as guaranteed. DJ El Hombre Elastico and friends will keep the good vibes ticking over nicely till the early hours. We may drink rum.
