Maneki Ramen has been officially named Best Japanese Restaurant at this year’s Asian Restaurant & Takeaway Awards (ARTA).
The prestigious celebration of Pan Asian cuisine brought together over 1,300 nominated restaurants and takeaways from across the country. The awards honour ‘the outstanding dedication, creativity, and culinary excellence of the UK’s vibrant Asian food industry’.
Hosted by BBC journalist Samantha Simmonds, the ceremony, which was held at London Hilton Park Lane, welcomed leading Asian restaurateurs, MPs, dignitaries, and celebrities to recognise the industry’s top names.
Maneki Ramen, which has two restaurants in Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter and in Worcester, was honoured for its depth of flavour and spicing in the Redefine meat Tantanman, which combines Japanese ramen and traditional Chinese flavours. It’s the second time that the independent restaurant has been recognised in this category, winning the award in 2023.
Pete Dovaston, owner and Executive Chef at Maneki Ramen, said: “Winning Best Japanese Restaurant is a significant milestone for us and an incredible honour for our teams in Worcester and Birmingham. We’ve worked hard to bring something truly special to our diners, combining traditional Japanese techniques with bold flavours and a modern touch. This award is a reflection of the passion we pour into every bowl, and we’re beyond grateful to our loyal customers and the ARTA judges for recognising that.”
