Folk In The Forest at Sandwell Valley

Borrowing from Hip Hop culture’s competitions’ formats, “KRE8!” is a creative dance battle contest in a 2vs2 Bonnie and Clyde (Male+Female) concept. The question is what do you have to say? can you step out of your comfort zone? Improvise a narrative on the spot or push the limitations of a specific style of movement through experimentation ? 3 judges of various backgrounds including Hip Hop, Theatre/Contemporary dance and producing will decide whom the winning pair is!

Poets Place at the library
Organised by the Library of Birmingham and Apples & Snakes, Poets’ Place is an informal gathering of poets that meets twice a month. The Poets’ Place is an opportunity for local poets to meet like‐minded people, where poets can give and solicit feedback on poetry, or just sit back and write for a couple of hours without interruption. Poets’ Place can be used to make new friends, discover new poets, find out about poetry events, share and have your work critiqued, make useful connections, set a writing schedule.
