Birmingham has been chosen to host one of several official free Olympic fan zones ahead of this Summer’s Paris games.

Team GB announced it would be hosting ten free-to-enter zones from the opening ceremony on Fri 26 Jul to the closing ceremony on Sun 11 Aug.

Birmingham’s fan zone will be located at the Bullring’s St Martin’s Square, with organisers promising a ‘hub of sporting excitement with a large format screen and seating area.’

All Team GB fan zones will be free and accessible to all, with daily schedules of entertainment and sport-related attractions.

Team GB has also said the UK-wide fan zones will feature appearances from past Olympians, Q&As and medal celebrations with returning athletes, with more information to be confirmed in the coming weeks.
