Artist, cartoonist, casual sketcher, doodler or just plain interested in the art of the imagination? Fancy a bit of alcoholic inspiration and a late-night bar-style ambience with like-minded clientele who prefer to doodle rather than dance the night away? This free social and art event in the inspirational setting of Birmingham Art Gallery’s Edwardian tearoom offers anyone with a penchant for pen/cil work a chance to meet, chat, have a drink and express themselves on paper – in whatever way their heart (and imagination) desires. Part of the Birmingham Comics Festival this special night for self-confessed doodle-addicts, casual cartoonists and quick/slow-draw afficionados, aims to offer a perfect social space to let both your creativity and the good-times flow. Pens, pencils and paper all be provided free, just bring your imagination…

Fri 22 Apr, Birmingham Art Gallery, Chamberlain Square, Birmingham, B3 3DH. Tel: 0121 348 8038. 6.30pm – 10.30pm. FREE.
