Vivid Projects brings to a close its magnificently cutting edge exhibition year with a suitably post-modern wrap party as Algorave returns to turn algorithms into ‘an experience of the music itself’. Algoraves generate the music live from algorithms and have become a mini-movement taking place in over 40 cities around the world and gaining global notoriety despite originating as a bit of a tech joke. Here comes the science bit: “Created using specially made Live Coding environments the process also involves projecting the code on screens around the venue, so participants can see how the music they hear is being made, often complimented by algorithmically generated visuals projected alongside the code.” Or presumably you can just dance. Artists will be performing noise, rave, electronic and glitch audio. Live audio also comes courtesy of Canute, Algobabez and Charles Celeste Hutchins with live visuals and installations from the on-hand army of artistes.

Sat 3 Dec, Vivid Projects Art Space, 16 Minerva Works, 158 Fazeley Street, Birmingham B5 5RS. 7.30pm – 11pm, £5/£7 www.eventbrite.co.uk
