Jazz cats step forward for this final night in the series ft. live music, DJs and edgy sounds at the increasingly high kickin’ Cuban Embassy. Tonight’s special guests include Chris Bowden on sax, Miles Levin on drums, Mike Green on bass and Toby Boalch on keys, with more guests TBA. Ninja Tune saxophonist extraordinaire Chris Bowden deals in ‘distinctive space jazz with the rigour of a classicist’. Namechecks in his back catalogue include labels like Gilles Peterson’s Talking Loud and Mo’ Wax as well as helping to form the organic soul-jazz drum & bass sound of 4Hero’s 2 Pages album. DJ’s in the mix include local legend Guy Carlos and Jim Evans. There’s a BYO vinyl vibe and check out The Embassy’s great food and drinks offers for the full Thursday night package. Nice.
