A Casa means ‘At Home’ in Italian, and we’re pretty certain we’re going to want to actually live with the Cooksincase crew hosting this pop-up, once they’ve finished feeding us. For three nights only, the Kitchen Garden Cafe is going to be hosting the Italian culinary skills of Monica and Valentina and it’s very much a family affair. With the chance to sample dishes passed down through generations and with some ingredients imported in especially for the event, this is an authentic taste of the southern Italian region of Puglia. You’ll be welcomed with an aperitivo, and there will also be chef’s tasters available so you can nibble on a variety of snacks as well as a four course meal with options for vegetarians, pescetarians and meat eaters. This informal evening of good home cooking and hospitality is sure to transport you to the warmer climes of Italy. And with the opportunity to sample some of the best Puglian wines on offer, a firm if fleeting taste of La Dolce Vita’s voluptuous embrace – in the unlikely surrounds of Kings Heath – awaits.

Sat 1 Apr, 7.30pm at Kitchen Garden Cafe, York Road, Birmingham B14 7SA. £30 for 4 courses + more. www.kitchengardencafe.co.uk
