The Taiwan Philharmonic, one of Asia’s foremost orchestras, is set for a special show in Birmingham next year.

Making its Symphony Hall debut on Sat 3 Apr 2027, Taiwan Philharmonic: Out of this World combines exhilarating energy, cosmic drama and rich orchestral sound.

Under the baton of Chief Conductor Jun Märkl, the orchestra presents a concert perfect for classical newcomers and aficionados alike, featuring two of the most famous movements from Holst’s The Planets, alongside a spectacular finale: John Williams’ iconic Star Wars Suite.

Also featured in the evening’s programme will be Richard Strauss’s Also sprach Zarathustra, the opening ‘sunrise’ of which appeared memorably in the film 2001: A Space Odyssey.
