A popular Birmingham bar has teamed up with male mental health charity Talk Club to host regular meet-ups.
Digbeth’s AutoBrew will be hosting its first Talk & Listen event on Tue 20 Jan at 7.30pm, and every first and third Tuesday of the month going forward.
Talk Club’s in-person meetups are held in a variety of venues, be it gyms, pubs, local cafes or bars. The sessions encourage men to join safe and quiet spaces to talk and listen using the Talk Club sharing model, which starts with ‘How are you? Out of 10?’
Speaking about the upcoming events, Sean from AutoBrew says: “I’m Sean, who’s usually behind the bar as well as behind the scenes at AutoBrew, taking all your orders and making sure you have the best experience every time.
“This year I’d like to turn my attention to providing a service beyond just hospitality, by giving people a chance to talk about how they’re really feeling, outside open-hours, in a laidback, warm environment. Personally, being a business owner comes with its own pressures, so I’m always grateful for a chat!”
Anyone thinking about joining is encouraged to send the group’s ‘Captain’ an email ahead of the session, though just turning up on the night is also very much welcome.
