The latest edition of Harden’s coveted Top 100 Restaurants list has been revealed, with two Birmingham spots named amongst the UK’s best.

Coming in at 12th in the overall rankings is the acclaimed 14-seat fine dining restaurant, Albatross Death Cult. Headed up by Wilderness chef Alex Claridge, the intimate seafood-focussed concept opened just last year, and has been met with plenty of acclaim since.

Described as an ‘exploration of coastal culture’, the team recently revealed their new 2026 tasting menu, which is priced at £100pp for ten courses.

Joining Albatross Death Cult in 20th spot is Birmingham’s celebrated Indian fine dining restaurant, Opheem. Led by Aktar Islam, Opheem was awarded its second Michelin star in 2024. In its review of the experience, Harden’s said ‘Aktar’s cooking sets the bar for modern British Indian cuisine’.

Now in its 35th year, Harden’s 100 restaurants list is derived from the 30,000 reports with ratings submitted by 2,500 diners who contributed to the Harden’s annual survey.
