This April, a full-blown drag takeover is in effect in Birmingham, with performances from Drag Race favourites Jinkx Monsoon and Adore Delano as well as Fifi la True, the drag persona of Jamie Campbell (the inspiration for Everybody’s Talking About Jamie).

Drag: Adore Delano: “A Pizza Me” Tour

The first RuPaul’s Drag Race superstar to grace the stage in Birmingham this April is everyone’s favourite grunge goddess Adore Delano. Since instantly becoming a fan-favourite when she reached the top three in her season back in 2014, she has gone on to conquer the world with her own original music and infectious charm – having released three studio albums in the years following her stint on Drag Race. Bringing her one-woman show ‘A Pizza Me’ to the Glee Club, she’ll be revealing behind the scenes stories from life on tour and performing some of her favourite songs. Her last tour sold out so get your tickets now to avoid missing out!

Film: The Kids Are Alright

One of this month’s offerings from the Journey Film Club is The Kids Are Alright. Starring Julianne Moore, Annette Bening and Mark Ruffalo, the film follows a lesbian couple who have brought up two children thanks to an anonymous sperm donor. When daughter Joni and son Laser get curious about their heritage, chaos ensues.

Drag: Jinkx Monsoon & Major Scales: The Ginger Snapped

From one worldwide drag success story to another, crowned champion of Drag Race Season 5 and loveable songstress Jinkx Monsoon brings ‘The Ginger Snapped’ to Birmingham Town Hall. Along with her sidekick, lyrical genius Major Scales, the pair return to the stage to showcase music from their new album following a totally sold-out show last year. Both fantastic entertainers and seasoned performers, they promise a show that is ‘therapy you can dance to’ and are sure to leave their mark in Birmingham this month.

Wed 3 Apr, Birmingham Town Hall, Victoria Square, Birmingham, B3 3DQ, 8pm, prices vary, www.thsh.co.uk

Drag: Why Isn’t Everybody Talking About Fifi?

The next drag show to land in Birmingham this April is none other than Fifi la True, the drag persona of Jamie Campbell – the inspiration for hit West End musical Everybody’s Talking About Jamie. ‘Why Isn’t Everybody Talking About Fifi?’ is loosely based around Jamie’s story from the perspective of Fifi who has been left in the shadows since the success of Everybody’s Talking About Jamie and is determined to make room for herself in the spotlight. With high-energy, high-kicking choreography and countless costume changes, she’ll make sure that Fifi is the name on everybody’s lips.

Sat 6 Apr, The Nightingale Club, 18 Kent Street, Birmingham, B5 6RD, 7pm, £10, www.fixr.co

Drag: Pandora Boxx

The third and final Drag Race alum to sashay into Birmingham this April is none other than Season Two’s Miss Congeniality and All-Star, Pandora Boxx. She’s here to show us just why she made such a lasting impression on the world all the way back in 2010 when Season Two aired (besides that iconic Snatch Game performance as Carol Channing). Don’t miss this quirky queen do her thing at Nightingales for a night to remember.
