A pop punk band with something to say? What will they think of next. Exeter’s Muncie Girls finally got around to releasing their debut album in 2016 and from the Sylvia Plath inspired title ‘From Caplan to Belsize’ through the raft of rousingly intelligent songs, it is an album with a serious political heart. Songs like ‘Respect’ and ‘committee’ reveal a clued up personal energy that seeks to challenge misogyny and the dearth of radicalism.  Our favorite though is the Plath inspired ‘Gas Mark 4’.
