Lo-fi fuzz producer and decksmith DJ Seinfeld is riding the same wave surfed by contemporaries Mall Grab, DJ Boring and Ross from Friends, but he is resolute in his refusal to be pigeon-holed, pushing his music ever forward into new rough-edged, unpolished territory. It’s clear from his moniker that Seinfeld doesn’t take himself too seriously, but just seriously enough to write one of 2016’s most poignant tracks – ‘U’, which famously featured a sample of Bob Geldof discussing his painful divorce from former wife Paula. Performing alongside Seinfeld is Project Pablo, a Montreal-based DJ who makes breezy, upbeat low-fi house replete with disco elements, quirky synth leads and bright keyboard melodies. With this event, the Hare & Hounds and Fight Night continue to solidify their reputation for bringing some of the world’s brightest and best underground acts to Birmingham for the first time – forever ahead of the curve.
