Epic main stage madness at Boxxed with a techno and house masterclass provided by none other than Tale of Us and Sasha, who will be performing an exclusive back-to-back set to close off a thoroughly explosive night. We’d wager that most techno acts can’t count composers as diverse as Nils Frahm, Jah Wobble and Paolo Conte amongst their influences, but Tale of Us are a duo with a rich, eclectic taste in music. This eclecticism is imprinted on their varied, endlessly experimental sound, melodic and low-key at times yet perfectly capable of brute power when the moment calls for it – a true lesson in tension and release. Sasha, on the other hand, is a DJ so revered that in 2004 Mixmag questioned whether he might actually be the second coming of Christ. And if you can look past the blasphemy it’s easy to see why, what with his progressive leanings, legendary collaborative projects with John Digweed, and more importantly, his utterly heroic (messianic?) consistency over the years. He’s a consummate professional, truly dedicated to his craft. Both Tale of Us and Sasha have been record label Renaissance’s flagship artists since the company’s inception in 1992, and this event sees the two come together to show the world how it’s done.
