Film/Art: Voz Rara Mikhail Karikis films and performance at Birmingham School of Art
Karikis’ fascinating work uses the voice and sound to sculpt stunning audio-visual installations that challenge the essence of human existence and what the self actually means. Several of Karikis’ films will be screened with a post film performance lecture exploring the Children of Unquiet and the history of Larderello Valley in Italy. Quite a coup this. Sleazy psych rockers Saint Agnes land in Moseley as part of their The Witching Hour tour for none of your golden nuggets. That’s some deal. Saint Agnes’ beautifully grubby racket is pure rock and roll, expect the Dark Horse’s roof to become a little unsettled when their throbbing noise hits full gear. Support comes from Elephant Peel and The Mighty Young.
