Secret Factory Rave | Fri 2 Feb | Location TBC | Sold Out
Taking it back to the heyday of illegal warehouse raves – except this one is (presumably) legal – Bass Collective team up with Nottingham party brand Krudd for a gritty, grimy bassline and drum & bass rave straight out of the sewers and into your ear drums. Receiving top billing is a back-to-back set by Black Country lads DJ Pantha and DJ EJ, with support coming from some of the scene’s most revered selectors, such as TS7, Thorpey, Burgaboy and DJ Chef. This one strips things back to the basics: a banging Void sound system and a huge industrial space with top DJs and great music. After party tickets still available here. See our feature here.
Brunch’in & Hip Hop | Sat 3 Feb | Leveldigbeth | from £13.50
Following last week’s UK garage offering, Brunch’in turns its attention back to hip hop. Expect to hear the full breadth of the genre, from boom bap Wu-Tang classics and R&B-infused jams courtesy of Aaliyah and Mary J Blige to more modern, Xanax-numbed cuts from the likes of Lil Uzi Vert. If you fancy a drink, there’s bottomless cocktails between noon and 1pm; and if you’re feeling peckish, there’s jerk chicken, goat curry and a Caribbean BBQ from some of Brum’s finest street food vendors. Bored? Have a game of basketball, pool or ping pong. It might be a cliché, but there really is something for everyone here. www.theticketsellers.co.uk
