231 East 47th Street, in Midtown Manhattan, is one of the most iconic addresses in popular culture and the original home of Andy Warhol’s Factory, the hippest joint in New York, nay the world, home to a disparate mix of artists, speed freaks and Warhol superstars. The Factory moved twice around New York before its bright party light faded, shortly before Warhol’s death, but on the 10th February the mecca of debauchery rises again at our own Sunflower Lounge. Some of the city’s finest emerging artists, such as Molly Cleaver, will be exhibiting their work amidst a lovingly recreated Factory vibe, with installations, projections and fashion. Art can be viewed for free from 12pm but as dark descends (6pm) get your tickets out as live music and DJs will kickstart a party of which Paul America, Lou Reed and Candy Darling would be proud. Bands include Floral Schoppe, Bad Girlfriend and Cave Girl. Have you got what it takes to be a Warhol superstar? Valerie Solanas is barred.
Sat 10 Feb 12pm at The Sunflower Lounge, 76 Smallbrook Queensway, Birmingham B5 4EG Free till 6pm then £5 www.facebook.com
